The sponge cake with apples is a recipe that is as simple and quick as it is tasty and full of flavor. Here are the main steps you should follow to make sure you get a fluffy and soft cake, just like in your grandmother's recipes!

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and prepare a tray lined with baking paper.
  2. Clean the apples and cut them into small cubes. Sprinkle a little lemon juice over them to keep them fresh and to give the dish an extra flavor.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the eggs with the sugar until you get a foamy and light-colored composition.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixed with baking powder and salt, mixing gently and constantly with a spatula.
  5. Add the apple cubes and gently mix to obtain a homogeneous dough.
  6. Pour the mixture into the previously prepared pan and level the surface.
  7. Bake the dish in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes.
  8. Remove the sponge cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to another plate to cool completely.

  • 3 diced apples
  • A cup of carbonated water
  • A cup of sugar
  • 10g baking powder
  • 2.5 cups of flour
